He had allegedly put indecent questions to a woman passenger

An immigration officer at the airport here has been suspended for allegedly harassing a woman passenger from Bengaluru on March 18. The accused, Vinod Kumar, allegedly asked her sexually explicit questions while she was getting her passport and travel papers checked at the immigration counter for boarding a flight to Hong Kong.
The woman alleged that the immigration officer used foul language, and asked her why she was going to Hong Kong alone. He followed her along the travelator connecting the domestic and international wings of the airport. “Taking cognisance of the incident, the accused immigration officer was suspended on Thursday. A departmental inquiry has been ordered,” a Union Home Ministry official said.
Airport officials have seized closed-circuit television camera footage of the accused officer at the time of the incident. Through an e-mail, the woman’s father-in-law lodged a complaint with Bureau of Immigration Commissioner, Delhi, P.K. Bhardwaj. She returned from Hong Kong on March 23.
